I ordered the Vermibag Mini and it arrived just last week. I have to say that Tom provided the friendliest service I’ve ever had over the Internet. Very accommodating, he allowed me to order a custom color in coyote brown and also a custom design without the mini window.

According to Dr. Elaine Ingham, a world renown composting expert, aerobic ventilation is extremely important in composting systems. Tom’s vermibag design is the best design out there for good aerobic ventilation IMO and I highly recommend it.

The Vermibag is very well made and I look forward to acquiring some Red Wigglers to start up my vermicomposting system by end of the month.

Thanks Tom for the wonderful service and product!

I love this bag, I opted for the purple one with a stand, it got here pretty fast, would have been here yesterday if we hadn’t been snowed in, what a beautiful bag, the quality is awesome, and I love the matching stand. It was really easy to put together, this gal is not very handy, and I had no trouble at all. Last weekend I transferred two 10 gallon bins, one with RW’s and one with ANC’s to the Mini, the worms seem to love it too, they have more space now, and the bag “breathes”, no more escapees, and no condensation at all. I have 4 other systems, but this is my new favorite.

Thanks Tom, great service, and an awesome product!

I’m new to vermiculture and decided on the VermiBag after watching many hours of video on YouTube including Tom’s channel (VermiBag Composting Systems).

I noticed that he is very much a detail guy so I had no worries about quality and when my Mini arrived I was proven right. It’s perfect in construction and is really lovely and a great way to camouflage the busy worms inside of it.

I’ve picked up so many tips about how to run the system from Tom’s videos and he has been so great about answering the remaining questions I had. Now I know that because the different species often live and eat at different levels of the system, I might want to keep multiple species in one bag – I see a larger VermiBag in my not too distant future.

I’m just brand new to this so I haven’t done a harvest but from videos it seems like this is an excellent system for ease and reduced messiness of harvesting which is super important to me and the reason I went with a continuous flow bag system that is breathable rather than plastic.

I ordered my lovely wine and black Vermibag Mini in early October this past Fall, and harvested the first batch of casings yesterday. What came out of the simply ingenious zipper system at the bottom of my bag was black, nearly all casings, and gorgeous (fellow warm warm enthusiasts and gardeners – you know what I mean!) Set up was a breeze, and I received excellent information on this, including how to easily construct my PVC stand, and have throughly enjoyed watching my worms not only thrive but flourish in their home. New to this hobby and this system, I emailed Tom this weekend, and asked wherher or not I needed t lol worry about overpopulation in my bin. I received a speedy and extremely helpful reply and there is no need to worry about this as these little guys will self regulate! Also, the tremendous breathability of this bag allows for greater worm population than in other systems—- In my bin right now, there are, in most places, two to three inches deep of almost pure worms in all different sizes! I find this entire experience so satisfying that I tell anyone who is even slightly peaked all about it—- If you are sitting in the fence about purchasing a VermiBag, I say jump in! Thank you Tom and thank you, VermiBag!

Just got the vermi mini setup. Tom got my bag shipped out very fast. I am blown away by the quality of this bag. I spent many days researching vermi bags and decide to go with Tom’s bags due to customer service/ Quality. He answered all my questions very quickly and professionally. I have had this bag setup for about a week so far and have noticed very quickly how well this bag breathes. I also love the vermi window to look and watch the worms do their work. As all vermicomposters know it’s very hard to keep out and not play with the worms and the window does just that. Definitely recommend!!!!!! Will update this post with time, and pictures. Thanks Tom P.s thanks for you Military service

I Have Purchased a Vermibag mini From Tom He shipped it to New Zealand for me a few weeks ago. The service and Infomation I have received from Tom has been just Awesome.
I Believe The Vermibag System is the best on the Market. He makes them one at a time ,not mass Produced. My Worms were transfered from a stacking bin. I Have just harvested about 10Kilograms of awesome castings. I would recomend anybody wanting to start vermicomposting to purchase one of Tom’s vermibags.

Decided to try a Vermi-bag mini after successive failures with a tray based system. As soon as I removed the bag from its package the build quality was obvious. The construction and materials are excellent. Followed the directions to build the pvc stand and on attaching the bag using the provided straps found it was a perfect fit. No slack to speak of and no stress on the zipper. The precise fit speaks to the quality of the design and construction.

The worms l and Iove it. No great escapes or suicides, no fruit flies or fungus flies, no dry bedding edges, no soggy lower trays and the consumption of waste has gone way up.

The wife hated the mess and dead escapers from the tray based system. The Vermi-bag is the polar opposite, clean and unobtrusive. Now we can compost all year round with no fuss or muss.

I rarely write reviews but this product definitely deserves five stars. I been using the vermibag mini for a while now. I can definitely say is worth every penny. When I purchased the mini bag I thought it was going to be small but there is nothing mini about it! I love that is just big enough for my kitchen scraps. It makes collecting the casting so easy! I recommend this bag to my sister and I would recommend to anyone looking for a worm composting system! Customer service is great and the craftsmanship of the bag is super.

I have been vermicomposting since 2009 and have used many good systems: Can-O-Worms, Urban Worm Bag, and The Worm Inn. After just 3 weeks of owning a Vermibag Mini ( with the window) this is my favorite sister for several reasons. It has great air flow like The Worm Inn but it also holds moisture a bit longer I have noticed. The bag materials are very strong, the zippers don’t snag. I have not harvested yet, but I can tell it will be a breeze with the large zipper that is protected by an inner harvest liner. The system comes with 4 ties to attach to a pvc stand that you buy separately. I found it very easy to construct and hang the system. The Owner of Vermibag, Tom, has answered many questions and given me many tips via email. Tom recommended I try African Nightcrawlers and I am glad I took his advice, they are really amazing. I highly recommend the VermiBag – Mini.

Ordered a purple mini with a window, to have as a fun kitchen display bag. Repurposed and repainted an old wooden Worm Inn Mega stand, with casters, for ease of use. The bag and the window are a big hit with everyone, humans and worms. (You may want to bait the window a day or so before to get the best dramatic effect!) I was shocked at how well every part of this bag is constructed. I shouldn’t be surprised, because I own two of the VermiBag Tote size, but each one has such quality detail work.

The moisture retention balance is the best in any flow through worm system tried, to date. I opted for the solid breathable lid, because that’s what works best here. I’m not constantly fighting a loosing battle with dry system walls. No more dry hard water deposits jamming up a harvest zipper/drawstring or torn filmy lid materials. Nor dealing with too much condensation on a completely non-breathable lid, making a drippy mess. Had concerns about the mini being too small to function well, but that is definitely not the case!
Fast great communication, and quick shipping.

Excellent means of raising composting worms. These bags provide a breathable solution, that allows users an easy way to harvest the composted material ( worm castings ) from the zippered bottom panel, but also worm leachate that drains through the bottom panel depending on the material that is feed to the worms in the bag. If I feed the worms, blended material, I almost always get leachate in the tubs I place below that can be combined with rain water as a liquid based soil amendment for plants. You can use an array of different products for vermicomposting, and I tried them, but the common theme I found was that the worms escape. Having a zippered top prevents the worms from leaving the composting area. The results I obtained from using the vermibag mini inspired purchases of the tote, max, and lil mammoth. HIghly recommend.

Tom’s a great guy, very responsive and communicative. You don’t get that kind of service from most online shops these days. The Vermibag I picked up from him is quite well made and is working great!
